Tumbled Gemstone Sizes
The following photo shows actual sizes of the stones we offer. We also list the approximate maximum number per pound and the average count per lb (in parentheses) of each size.
There will be some variation due to stone shapes and specific gravity, but these figures have proven to be accurate averages over many years of production. (The basic difference within sizes is due to those longer stones which can pass through the sizing screen holes.)
You will note we have added an extra extra large size which results from double screening our previous extra large. We also have a 12th size (Jumbo) which is occasionally available in some materials. Jumbos measure from 2" and run about 6-12 to the pound. If you are interested in this very large size, please check with us for availability and price.
